Back to school 2025: Artificial Intelligence is already here. Will cheating become more widespread in 21st-century schools? The simplicity, efficiency, and undetectability of AI make copying and pasting so easy that many students have been gripped by a feeling of omnipotence, and many colleagues by a sense of helplessness. When faced with AI, shouldn't we choose reason over fascination or fear, confrontation with reality over grand speeches, and pedagogy over inaction? Because if AI is perceived as a potential enterprise for the demolition of schools, particularly traditional assessment methods, then we must consider reconstruction.
