Welcome and Integration of Non-French Speaking Students in Secondary Education: The Importance of Authentic Language and Cultural Approach
During the 2022-2023 school year, an increasing number of young people with specific educational needs in terms of learning French as a second language were enrolled in middle school or high school.
Whether in regular classes, in support programs (pedagogical unit for incoming non-French speaking students), or receiving linguistic support in the classroom, how can we best welcome and integrate these students?
Through several testimonies, we will see in what ways communities and institutions are responding to this challenge.
