Teachers and digital citizenship : which teaching levers ?
Organized by Arcom / Arcom / Défenseur des droits
Following on from the digital citizen learning kit published in January 2021, Arcom, the CNIL and the Defender of Rights wished to continue their collaboration by launching a study with secondary school teachers on the subject of digital citizenship: how do they consider digital citizenship? How do they perceive their students' relationship to digital citizenship? What are the issues on which it seems to them most urgent to raise their awareness today, etc.?
This workshop will therefore be an opportunity for the three authorities to present the key points of this study as well as their actions and resources in terms of digital media education, information and digital citizenship.

Sign language: how to easily initiate your students for free?
Organized by FONDATION VOLTAIRE
One child out of 1,000 is born deaf each year in France and six million people in our country are affected by hearing impairment. Your school may have students with this type of disability?
In addition to raising awareness, how can you offer your students an introduction to French sign language (LSF) that makes it possible to have a first level of exchange with a deaf or hard-of-hearing person who signs?
On September 23rd, International Sign Language Day, the Voltaire Foundation launched a new online introductory course with AEFS: Les Signes de Voltaire.
Les Signes de Voltaire is a self-adapting training course with videos, exercises, illustrations... Several levels allow students from 11 years old to recognize the signs and learn their meaning. Everyone can learn at their own pace, in short sessions of 20 to 30 minutes twice a week ideally, on PC, mobile or tablet.
Discover this tool and how to set up a highly personalized, fun, effective and sustainable learning of the basics of LSF with your students.
This initiative was supported by the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region and the Banque des territoires (Caisse des dépôts).

From digital in our lives to digital at school: how to train teachers in critical and relevant uses of digital?
Organized by UNOWHY
From our screens, we have access to knowledge everywhere, all the time. Does this mean the end of school? No, quite the contrary. Facing this abundance of information accessible at the click of a button, schools need their teachers more than ever to build fundamental knowledge and skills, and to make tomorrow's adults informed and educated citizens about the challenges of digital technology in our society.
School must be a place of practice and questioning of our digitalized lives. It is thus essential to train all teachers in digital culture and pedagogical uses.
This is the meaning of the SQOOL Academie training course. To show how digital technology can be a formidable facilitator of learning and of the work of teachers, if and only if it is considered as a means and not as an end. A way to understand the world around us, to diversify the ways of learning, to modify, to increase, to reinvent one's pedagogy and one's role as a teacher by going from face to face to side by side with the student.
At SQOOL Academie, we want to give every teacher the opportunity to develop their digital skills to enrich their pedagogical expertise, regardless of their initial level.
Come discover with our trainers an overview of our journey and question with us your relationship with the digital world on this conference.

Docaposte, France’s digital trust specialist: what are its commitments to education?
Organized by DOCAPOSTE
While La Poste has traditionally maintained a pledge of trust within the physical world, Docaposte carries this pledge through into the digital world by offering its solutions to businesses and public institutions:
- As a sensitive data processing expert, Docaposte enjoys a unique position on the market which enables it to cater to the whole spectrum of customer requirements in the digital trust arena.
- Its line of business consists in devising, designing and operating digital trust solutions and platforms that simplify and secure the exchange of data for the businesses and administrations among its clients.
- Its solutions provide a guarantee of confidentiality during the transmission, storage and use of data, in accordance with the highest standards of ethics and in the interests of the population’s social inclusion.
- As a Trust Services Provider, Docaposte endeavours to obtain the main labels and certifications that apply in its line of business. Docaposte’s entire range of digital trust services is thus eIDAS-certified.
- Docaposte operates its own ‘Made in France’ digital infrastructure and Green IT. As a digital trust third party, the company vouches for the sovereignty of its clients’ data and offers hosting solutions through its four certified next-generation datacentres, thus guaranteeing the highest standards of security and compliance.
- So where does the human dimension lie in all this? Docaposte’s view is that a customer experience cannot be exclusively digital. Although digital platforms can speed up and simplify the exchange of data, the human aspect is there to enhance and create bonds of trust.
Digitisation to support the education industry
Our duty towards the education industry is to guarantee a responsible, ethical and sovereign form of digitisation that adheres to various fundamental social standards: equal opportunities, digital inclusion and trust within the educational and learning system.
Having taken over Index Education (publisher of the PRONOTE, EDT and Hyperplanning software packages) and acquired 30 years of experience catering to schools, Docaposte has now become the leading creator of digital uses within the world of education.
There are three main pillars upholding our pledge to the educational community, families and local authorities, and they all come under a single digital portal: the digital space for education and youth (ENEJ).
- School life: the PRONOTE and PRONOTE Primaire software packages are available throughout France and ensure educational continuity from nursery right up to the final year of school. With its 17 million users, Docaposte is the largest provider of school data hosting services and the leading partner for secondary schools. The data are saved in encrypted form and stored in a redundant infrastructure located in France, and each school has its own environment.
- Educational resources and tools: the ENEJ is linked to the RAM and provides teachers with access to the digital commons. Our aim is to capitalise on PRONOTE’s audience and enable EdTech firms to offer their own solutions, under each headteacher’s responsibility. The ENEJ can also interlink with the building blocks of Docaposte’s trust services. One example is the Digiposte electronic vault, which is used to receive, store and transfer documents under conditions that can guarantee their integrity and authenticity of origin, traceability and secure user identification.
- Family services offered by local authorities: Docaposte’s portal places an emphasis on the community in order to make life easier for local authorities and promote their youth policies. Docaposte manages over 2 million ‘Pass jeunes’ on a day-to-day basis, providing young people with access to sporting and cultural activities subsidised by the local authority. Docaposte is stepping up its partnerships with local authorities as part of a drive to co-build a new generation of digital platforms catering to families and their needs.

Fostering Student Success: pedagogical uses of digital tools considering what we know about neuroscience
Organized by TACTILEO - MASKOTT
How do we learn? How do we help students effectively develop their own learning strategies? Better understanding the mechanisms behind memorization, attention and motivation is a key factor.
As we launch the Maskott Neurosciences collection we will dive into how we can best use digital learning tools to help students succeed in school. This free collection of resources is available to all teachers in France.
The impact that digital learning tools can have on personalized learning experiences was measured through the research project Ep3C (Pluralité des Contextes, compétences et comportements*). The purpose of the project was to identify cognitive, social and representational characteristics to be addressed in order to provide more pertinent learning experiences in school settings with diverse learner profiles.

Digital education for sustainable development
Organized by FUTUR EN HERBE
Education for sustainable development has never been as topical as it is in this year when sobriety is taking hold in our schools, our town halls and everywhere in France. The question is no longer whether the actors of education should take up this issue, but rather how to interest young people and enable them to become eco-responsible citizens.
Come and discover an innovative approach to education for sustainable development, which is aimed at both schools (with dedicated digital educational resources) and elected officials and community leaders (with opportunities for deployment in extracurricular activities).

An open learning platform and beyond
Organized by ITSLEARNING
At itslearning, we are convinced that a learning platform has become a huge plus for teaching and learning as it enables educators to structure their resources and combine them with specific content creation third-party apps.
Nowadays, this is no longer enough. We think that by integrating an increasing number of third-party tools, the platform (regardless of itslearning) will become a strong educational ecosystem that can evolve.
All of this is to offer more ways and resources to the teaching community, in favour of developing students' skills and knowledge. This is our definition of what an open platform is.
What does this mean in real life? To answer this question, we wanted to let some of the major institutions have their say so that they can share their experience and best practices.

LiFi, a new high-speed wireless radio wave-free and highly-secure connectivity, which pursues a conscious digital approach.
Organized by OLEDCOMM
Oledcomm's wireless connectivity solution, based on invisible light, provides high quality broadband internet access that is much more secure than WiFi. It addresses the problematic raised by the Abeille law (2015) which prohibits or limits the use of radio waves, and is part of a responsible digital approach in primary and secondary schools.
1) Protecting the health of the most vulnerable
- The absence of radio waves protects the developing brains of the youngest. It also preserves children and adults of all ages who may show intolerances or a weak immune system.
- In this respect, the Oledcomm solution perfectly meets the requirements of the French ‘Abeille Law’ and the recommendations of the ANSES
- This solution doesn’t present any photo-biological hazard (classified risk 0)
2) A reduced environmental impact
- Our solution allows significant savings on copper cables, which are difficult to recycle
- Our technology is less energy-consuming
3) Optimal data security
- LiFi does not penetrate walls, making it impossible to intercept communications from outside a room or building equipped with LiFi
- To access the network, a user must use an authorized USB receiver. The USB key adds a layer of security.
- Finally, there is a third layer of security with the network administration software that allows access control.
4) A far superior quality connection compared to WiFi, which allows for greater productivity
- No interference with neighboring WiFi networks
- Better distribution of bandwidth between users
- Much lower latency than a WiFi network
5) A scalable solution to avoid unnecessary costs
- Possibility to choose defined coverage areas unlike WiFi which floods the space
- Less energy consuming and therefore less expensive
6) A wireless mobility technology that creates opportunities to new teaching methods
- For instance the use of connected tablets in kindergartens
- Tech labs entirely equipped in LiFi allowing smooth and dynamic experiments

Digital at the service of educational resilience
Organized by LENOVO
With the covid crisis, and the "school at home" educational, cultural and social inequalities have been illustrated by serious dropouts. With the “whatever the cost”, the government has made it possible to maintain the economic fabric and support households. Nevertheless, it quickly became apparent that school continuity was very complicated for parents and in particular those who were experiencing social difficulties. However, in territories that had embarked on a digital transformation by involving associations, communities and businesses, studying during confinement was generally more resilient.
In this round table we propose to expose the capacity for digital to be a response to the inequality of opportunities at school. Does digital facilitate the inclusion of children with disabilities and effectively fight against school dropout. Finally, in the era of AI, disintermediation or automation, can we hope for better monitoring of the student, of his progress, a better understanding for parents of what life really is? of the establishment or how can the teacher take full advantage of technologies without them replacing him but by "networking".
